train station
This redesign of the Elizabeth Train Station in NJ aims to reduce car use, cut emissions, and increase transit ridership through a more functional and welcoming hub.The primary entrance is at Julian Place and West Grand Street, with a secondary entrance via an underground tunnel to Broad Street. The station is split into two levels:
Level One includes ticketing, restrooms, a café, convenience store, light rail waiting area, ADA access, and a pedestrian tunnel.
Level Two provides platform access, a waiting area, juice bar, security office, and lost & found, with partial open-air coverage for weather protection.
Classical Greek and Roman elements connect the station to historic Midtown Elizabeth, anchored by a golden glass dome that serves as a landmark and wayfinding tool.
