City within a city
My design concept explores the dynamic interplay of fragmented forms, manipulating shape to create a sense of movement and spatial fluidity. Inspired by the selected images and a study of order and disorder in urban environments, the design integrates seamlessly with its surroundings, complementing rather than obstructing views from the High Line. Layered spaces, tiered platforms, and courtyards foster interaction, connecting the building to its urban context while establishing inviting areas for circulation and rest. Prioritizing structural adaptability and a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional urban morphologies, the design cultivates a strong sense of community and engagement between pedestrians and the built form.
